Well, as the old saying goes, "shit happens!" Two days before our gig, Billy Cristiani, our scheduled guest bass player, fell on some ice and hurt himself. He's gonna be alright, but he was in too much pain to play. However, we really lucked out because we got AJ Hager to sit in. AJ is a pro bass player who has been part of blues guitar great Debbie Davies' band since 1998. He played in Boston the night before, but he drove down in the afternoon and played the gig with us without a rehearsal. He did an incredible job on all our material, including two original songs that he'd literally never heard before. The people at Pietro's really liked the band and told us how tight we sounded. That's a real testement to AJ's musicianship!
